If your have a contactless chip and pin style credit or debit card, then your card holds sensitive information within a chip that is embedded in the card. This chip contains an antenna/aerial device that picks up power from a signal sent that is emitted by a card reader. The card reader and your contactless card are then able to communicate on a 13.56MHz frequency radio wave signal when in close proximity.

HOW IT WORK?
The RFID Blocking card works by drawing power from the scanner, and emitting a counter-signal to jam the communication. This protects the surrounding cards within a 2.5cm radius (roughly).
It’s the same size as a standard credit card so will fit in any wallet. It is however slightly thicker, at 1.2mm vs 0.76mm of a normal card. This is due to the internal circuitry.
WHICH OF YOUR CARDS ARE AT RISK?
In short, any card with that displays the RFID symbol and/or contains contactless technology. But this isn't limited to cards with this symbol. If you have tap and go key-card entry, this may contain your personal data which will use the same 13.56MHz as contactless. Also contactless enabled passports are now becoming more widespread, again offering more opportunity for data on you to be stolen.
